Our Story

Every great business starts somewhere.

Ours started at a teak dining table in Raynes Park, South West London – bought from John Lewis in the 1970s by my parents and still standing strong today. In 2002, I walked away from my career in investment banking at Bank of America and sat down at that table with one client, a blank notepad, and the belief that there was a better way to help people manage their finances.

That client was a dentist – my wife Smita – who, like so many professionals, knew her craft inside out but found the world of tax, accounting and business finance bewildering. Her network of friends was the same. That was the lightbulb moment. I realised that if I could build something genuinely useful for people who were brilliant at what they do but needed trusted financial guidance, I could build something worth building.

From those early days at my father’s dining table, Samera grew. Slowly at first – a website built on MS FrontPage, newsletters written late at night, dental shows where the ROI was frankly terrible – but we kept going. Over twenty-five years, Samera became one of the UK’s leading specialist finance and accountancy groups for the healthcare sector, serving hundreds of clients and building a team spanning London to Delhi.

Samera Sky is the next chapter.

I’ve always been passionate about aviation – the freedom it represents, the community that surrounds it, and the extraordinary machines that make it possible. That passion has only deepened through my son Parus, whose own journey into the industry has opened up a new world of flying for our family – the people, the airfields, the everyday realities of life in general aviation. Through him, I’ve seen up close how much this world matters to those in it, and how often the path into it is harder than it needs to be.

After a career in finance, I’m acutely aware that too many talented pilots and aviation enthusiasts find the path to aircraft ownership needlessly complicated, opaque, or simply out of reach.

So we built Samera Sky to fix that. Bringing the same ethics, expertise and boutique service that built Samera’s reputation in healthcare finance – and applying it to the UK General Aviation community.

I believe the best businesses are built on simple things: showing up, caring about the people you serve, looking after your team and never cutting corners.
